Hi All,

Iam looking for journal that can help me import points set along with their names when I import them into NX. Iam sure someone might have already got this.. Please can you share it with me?

Hi Cowski,

This is cool. Is there any export journal to export the points to excel sheet with names?

Hi Cowski,

Iam getting errors while trying to import a simple excel file . I have the column with headers as SL.NO X Y Z

How can I fix

The journal assumes that the header information is in row #1 (and only in row #1). The name info should be in column A, col B = X value, col C = Y value, col D = Z value. According to the error message, it ran into a value that it could not parse into a numerical value.

This can happen if you have text data in a cell that it expects a coordinate or if your computer regional settings are set to something other than "en-US". I learned sometime after making this journal how to adjust for the regional differences. I'll add that code in when I get a chance.

Hi Cowski,

I checked the excel sheet and made sure all the coordinate values are numerical formatted and so is the names of points . I formatted the cells for Name , X, Y , Z as text.

I checked the regional setting , its en-US.

Still no luck.. Getting the same error..

I'm not able to reproduce the error. Can you send a small sample Excel file that shows the issue?
