Would a simple Rate of Change of frequency Relay enough for detecting islanding condition for wind turbine application which uses Induction generators. Can we detect power mismatch in this application?

I would think so. After all most wind turbines that I know of can't ramp up generation to keep the frequency within a bandwith.

So if you can't keep the frequency in bandwith, what will happen?
Also voltage would be another way to detect islanding, although much slower than frequency.

Measuring the frequency change is not enough.
You can / must look also to the vector shift and voltage change.
It depends on the country (Energy board and regulations of that country) how a islanding situation has to be measured. Good example is the G59 regulations in the UK.
Look for measuring devices which can detect islanding situations the MFR relays of Woodward.
