Hi,
I'm writing my first PQR/WPS and have a question regarding the interpretation of ISO 15614.
The standard states that butt weld on pipe with OD>25 covers all diameters > 0.5D.
Does this mean that it covers butt weld on plate with implied diameter of infinity?
Thanks

Yes.

It literally says so under § 8.3.3
"A butt weld qualification for pipes covers butt welds in plates."

Thanks,
I guess our version of the standard is quite old and that was added recently

It was added in the 2017 version.
The 2004 version did cover plates when testing on pipes, as you correctly stated a plate is a tube with diameter = infinity.

Obviously I would suggest using the latest version, however be careful with the 2004 version as there have been several amendments, some of them with quite important modifications to the original standard.
