Hi,

I was reading an HVAC tech sheet and confused by some sentenses in the sheet:

The heating on this unit will be run off discharge air temperature with room temperature override.
It will operate off discharge air temperature with room temperature override.
I guess these two sentenses mean that the new temperature will not be restricted by the discharge air temperature setting and the room temperature will be changed due to this.

Could anyone help me understand what is the meaning?

Thanks so much!

Since all we can do is guess, here is my guess:

The control first tries to maintain a set discharge temperature.

However, if the room temperature is too far below the room setpoint then a higher discharge will be allowed to more quickly bring the room to temperature.

Others may guess differently.

Agreed, typically a min DAT of 55 degF, with temp override. Allows economizer cooling in the winter and minimizing the possibility of overcolling with room setpoint override
