Itemizing sub assemblies

So I have a couple of bolts we use here at work that are at a 45 degree of each other on the inside of a channel. I would like to create a assembly of these 2 bolts positioned and when I need them in another assembly I can drop them in. When I insert a bill of materials it naturally lists the assembly. How can I get inventor to itemize, or break down that assembly into parts.

If I had to insert each and every bolt and rotate them yada yada it would be a nightmare.

I hope this is an easy question.

I "think" you are asking how to not have the bolt subassembly part # listed in the upper level bom..just the individual parts that make up that sub correct? If so, you simply set the bolt sub to "phantom" in its document settings..bill of materials tab.

While your suggestion worked I was curious if you can explain why it works like that? Setting it to Phantom does it tell Inventor to ignore the sub assembly and look at the individual parts instead? Or is it something far deeper than that?

Thats all it is... in the manufacturing world a "phantom" sub is a "non-stocking" sub-assembly where the components of that sub are "pushed up" into the upper level bom to "build it on the fly" but still having the luxury of assigning a part number to that sub-assembly.
