I have an Inventor Ultimate perpetual license that I pay maintenance on every year. It includes many programs which includes Fusion 360 Ultimate. Fusion 360 Ultimate has some non-linear FEA and thermal FEA, etc. that is not part of the standard Fusion 360 package nor built into Inventor Professional. I have the option to switch to subscription at a discount and give up my perpetual license. The Inventor package with subscription does not have Fusion Ultimate, but does have Nastran In CAD, which I think has non-linear features.
My question is, does anyone know which analysis package has the most versatile functions: Fusion Ultimate or Nastran In Cad? Autodesk is strongly nudging everyone toward their subscription model. Has anyone done a comparison between an Ultimate perpetual renewal vs Autodesk Product Design and Manufacturing Collection subscription, from the users point of view?
