Hello guys
Hopefully someone here may be able to help me please

The van is an iveco daily 2008 tipper
It's been a pig since owned it and rebuilt a lot of it .

Key snapped in the ignition since owned it and I just turn it on with the rest of the key , it's always stalled since I got it , done everything to fix. it did stop after fuel suction valve swapped , started again so changed pump in tank , did it again so cut the pump plug off and re wired it as the old one was corroded .

Then it just clicked so bought a starter motor it turned over slow started fine then stalled after a while came back the next day to drive and again nothing so got another starter and it turned over fine and fast but won't start , I can't remember what happened but now all lights are on the dash even without ignition on , battery was low so charged that and haven't been to connect it back up yet and ecu

Certain fuses keep popping which I can't remember which ones and seems the was no power to a couple I think it was the board on the left under bonnet and a relay

I have changed the main mega fuse on the battery 500amp as that’s blown twice before..

All lights were on and nothing happens when I turn the key
Even with ignition off it’s like a Christmas tree until I disconnect the battery

That was last time I went to look

I have removed the ecu and opened it to see if it’s burnt out but couldn’t see anything burnt and also charged the battery so need to go look again .

I have some fault codes
I'll send

Do you have any idea what it could be

Thanks lee

Look for where the harness has worn through on a bracket edge or screw or bolt head.

Also check that all ground wires are in place. See if there is voltage between the engine and battery ground when cranking. It should be 0.5V maximum.

Using a larger fuse can make the wire into the fuse, though it might also become an igniter wire on the way out.

Hello 3DDave thanks for the reply
Sorry I’m terrible with electrics / wiring

Can you elaborate please on which harness do I check also

Also what do you mean by using a larger fuse part

It has broke down before and the mega fuse on the battery was blown and it also blew a couple of fuses under the bonnet and 1 in the bcm , last time I checked there was no power to the fuses for some reason

Check all of the harness. Before any other diagnostic you need to be certain that the wiring conducts electricity only where it is supposed to. Blowing fuses is a sign a cable has a short and all the lights indicate that connections have been made where they should not be.

I had the impression that 500 Amp fuse was a larger replacement as you did not specify "factory spec."

From your post it appears that your 2008 Iveco is experiencing a number of issues including issues with the starting mechanism, power supply and ECU. You managed to replace the starter and mega fuse, but the problem remains. A situation where the dashboard lights are constantly on, even when the ignition is turned off, may indicate an electrical problem or a short circuit. It is recommended to check all electrical connections, wires and fuses for damage or corrosion. It is also possible that the problem is with the ECU.
