j1926 & j514 female port dimensions are different??

hello - sorry if this is in the wrong forum - we have a manifold that was ported using a sae #6 j1926 tool (9/16"-18 thread)- we installed a transmitter which had sae #6 male threads - the transmitter is leaking at the o-ring seal - everything is machined right - i called the manufacture of the transmitter & they told me that the threads were sae #6 j514 threads - i am unable to find the port dimensions for this thread - i have found the male ends which are a modified version of jic threads minus the 37 degree flare but no port dimensions - i have also read that the taper of the o-ring groove is different between the two - then i researched the cutting tool for the threads & it says that it is to be used for both types of thread - i am really in the dark = any help would be greatly appreciated - thank you

As far as I can tell the port specifications are identical between the two. I don't have the actual standards but see below for the tables I have pulled from some handbooks/catalogs, which should reflect the tables available in the actual standards at the date it was published. The important dimensions for o-ring sealing (and which would be mirrored on the port cutting tool you have) have been highlighted - they are the same, as well as the specified o-ring size.

A few things to check - how confident are you that the threads/o-ring sealing surface are positioned/oriented reasonably accurate relative to each other? (ie: was this port tool applied by hand on existing threads?) I would also check for burrs/sharp edges on the port, o-ring damage, that it is the right size o-ring, and the right material for your working fluid.
