Jog dimension 6

I have been using Pro/E for a while and now have to switch to Solidworks. During the training session, there was a question raised about creating Jog line for dimension (see attached). The instructor said there is no known way in Solidworks to create that. This is quite surprised me. I like to see if this is really true and any suggestion to get around the problem.

Co-ordinate dimensions can be jogged, but I know of no standard which allows the Witness lines of a regular dimension (per your image) to be jogged.

I don't know of a way to do that 'exact' feature, however, what's your desired end result? I bet SolidWorks can do whatever you need.

I used this sometimes when features are too small and too complex. This jogged dimension makes the dimension more easier to see. I used quite offen in Pro/E, it is called Jogged dimension.

When features are too small and too complex, you should use a detail view. Just because something is available, doesn't necessarily mean it's right.

The few times I had to do this in SW, I sketched the jog with lines on the drawing view. Lines were appropriately constrained so that they were related to model and the dimension was "live".

Look up "Jog" in your SolidWorks HELP. You will find a lot of information there. SWX can do what you want, often it is an issue of knowing what to look for.

Didn't look at the picture before. On the jogs I sketched, the dimension went out or in and then back again.

i am not sure if I got my answer here yet. I am not interested in coordinate dimensioning. My understanding of "Jog" in SW means different thing.
I couldn't find any North American drawing standard which prohibited Jogged dimension. In Pro/E Doesn't look like there is a straight forward answer.

I found the attached website mentioning something about adding jog to witness line. I don't have the SW. Appreciate if someone can take a look and see if there is any hints. It mentioned "Display options on witness line will add jog". Not too sure what it means as I don't have SW on hand.

It was actually Updraft & SnowCrash who first gave the correct answer.

At first glance it looks messy. Can you turn the view horizontal( with note- rotated view X°) and neaten up the dimensioning? Put the smaller dims closer to the part.
