Hi,

recently relocated a 415V distributional panel. As a consequence that panel is fed from by a sub feeder carrying about 200 A and it goes through an appropriately sized circuit breaker. I am thinking that that breaker is one too many potential failure points.

What do you think? and what is the best connection device to join to power cables.

The circuit breaker is a possible point of failure.
Is overcurrent protection required by your electrical code? If so, about your only other choice would be a fused switch.

I don't know how to say if it is a significant risk for your application. It depends on the consequences of a failure. The risk of a failure can be minimized by proper maintenance and periodic testing.

I can't comment on the sketchy information given.
How about a one line with some sizes and currents.

If you must joint the cable a Scotchcast or Raychem type joint is usually the best bet if they are properly used. As Bill says, post a single line diagram with cable sizes and breaker ratings then maybe we can comment further. There's a facility to upload files to a file host just below the 'reply' box.
