Hi, does anybody know that, in gereral how many percentage of reinforecment of the total reinf. used in a whole RC SMRF will be the reinf. used in the beam-column joint?

How to calculate the percentage? by weight?

Thanks a lot!

To see how the beam column joints of a SMRF are to be designed, you have to refer to chapater 21.5 of the ACI318-99

Thanks,

But I are not intended to know how to design the joint, I¢ò¢ý¢û¢ü¡@£@¢é¢ö¢ü¡@¢ü¢÷¡@¢ó¢ö¢÷£@¡@¢é¡@¢ú¢÷¢ý¢ï¢ð¡@¢ö¢ý¢õ¢ê¢í¢ú¡@¢î¢÷¢ú¡@¢ü¢ð¢í¡@¢û¢ü¢í¢í¢ô¡@¢ø¢í¢ú¢ë¢í¢ö¢ü¢é¢ï¢í¡@¢ý¢û¢í¢ì¡@¢ñ¢ö¡@¢ü¢ð¢í¡@¢ê¢í¢é¢õ¡Ð¢ë¢÷¢ô¢ý¢õ¢ö¡Ð¡@¢ò¢÷¢ñ¢ö¢ü compare d to the total amount steel used in whole building.

This is used to estimate some costs.

Thanks

I think it isn't possible to say in generaly what is the amount of reinforcement for the joints of SMRF. It is depending a lot of the particular structural scheme.

In project I have taken part in usually about 30% +/-10% of reinforcement is used for beam-column' joints. But this is according to Eurocode 3 and 8.
