I'm not exactly sure what you mean by knowledge based engineering (in this context), but I'll take a stab.

The closest thing to what you are asking is called Behavioural Modeling. It allows you to measure and analyze different aspects of your model, and then return values back to the model based on these results. A properly constructed Pro/E model can then be optimized based on these measurements, thus creating an "intelligent" model based on your desired outputs.

Is that what you were looking for? If not, would be able to elaborate on what you mean by KBE as it pertains to Pro/E modeling?

for kbe in pro-e i intend tool similar which that are in ather CAD, type: knowledge fusion in UG-NX3, or DriveWorksXpress in solid works.

In that case, yes, the Behavioural Modeling Extension (BMX) is Pro/E's version of KBE.

thanks, but i have to install a patch or i can find it in the standard installation of pro-e and where can i find any tutorial about it?
thamks a lot.

BMX is one of the more advanced tools of Pro/E, meaning that it is available with the higher level ($$!) packages.

If you are learning Pro/E and using an training or student version, you already have it. A quick way to check it is to try Insert-->Model Datum-->Analysis (in Wildfire2). If this option is greyed out, then your installation does not have BMX. The only way to get it at that point would be to upgrade to a more advanced package.

mloew has compiled faq554-784 for the users here. It is a great starting point for new BMX users.

Good luck!
