Kinematic Gear Turns the Wrong Way!

I'm running v5r7 and for some reason I can't seem to get the Kinematic Gear Function to work properly.

Normally I'd say my fault, but after working all day on this alone I'm thinking there's something wrong in the program.

The problem is that after going through the steps to create the joint between two gear shapes. (exactly like tutorial) the gears turn in the same direction.

They should turn in differant directions if one is driving the other. (one clockwise, the other counter clockwise)

As you know the kinematic function is operating on the "SETS" function..You need the coordinate the two sets that are representing each gear and set up the rotation by its "set" ...........Respectfully: <airplaneandy@yahoo.com>

Thanks for the reply Andy. Are we talking CATIA V5 or V4?

I new V4 was based on sets but I thought V5 was grouped by part body.

It's strange...I've still not been able to get it to work, it's such a simple task.

That's why I think something may be wrong with the function/program ...nooo couldn't be could it??

In any case thanks again for the reply,

bob

Can you make a simple gear kinematic and sent it to me..

I'll check that.. but I wont sent you a V5R7 file back because I dont want to install R7 again (R10 and R11 is enough for my computer)

But may be I can find want is wrong..
