Knockdown Tank Design

Currently, I am reviewing designs that are suitable for temporary/mobile tanks in the oil and gas sector.

Therefore, I may ask, is the knockdown tank design suitable for storing crude oil? if there is an example, what standard should I refer to?

"Knockdown" sounds like another word for bolted tank?
Yes you can use these for Crude Oil, but they have a tendency to weep or leak unless you are very careful about erection and knockdown.

Size tends to be limited. API 12B seems to list high capacity as 10,000 bbls...

or AWWA or just use a vendors standard design.

You still need good foundations and a ringbeam.

Really small volumes just hook up some frac tanks ( about 150 bbls each) They are really portable.... Generally designed to API 12F

The issue with Crude Oil though is that you need a roof, both for product contamination (rain) and to try and control vapour emissions.

So bolted tanks are fairly small, but maybe good enough if you've only got a well doing a few hundred barrels a day or less.
