Hi all, forgive me if this is a rudimentary question. For some back ground I have never used L-Pile before. My team and I are conducting a study for a plant and the new equipment they are wanting to install will need to be on piles. For the study, the design does not need to be complete but there needs to be fair amount of accuracy. I have a Geotech report that performed L-Pile analysis and derived allowable loads and deflections for certain pile types (HP & pipe piles) based on client preference. It also provides group factors, if applicable. I have designed the pile cap in RISA 3D using plates and pin supports at the proposed pile locations.
My question is - do I need to run L-Pile for the piles since we have the allowable loads and factors from the Geotech? My thought was that I would take the lateral and vertical reactions from RISA 3D and compare them to the allowables given in the report, but I may be misunderstanding the purpose of the software.
Thanks!
