Hi,

I'm in a project where the Specs. required 3 lab. tests on mechanical couplers, can anyone share me a clause in a code stating what are the 3 tests required for mechanical couplers except for tension test?

Eurocode 8 is seismic, which place load reversal demands on couplers. Fatigue can also be an issue, in some circumstances.

ISO 15835-2:2018 Steels for the reinforcement of concrete — Reinforcement couplers for mechanical splices of bars — Part 2: Test methods might be a good place to start.

One tension test, performed three times?
Have you reached out to the person who wrote the spec?

I agree, ask the spec writer. Maybe the intent is 3 slip tests.IS there any other info in the spec? In coupler/connector specs that I'm familiar with, slip is the only test I've seen specified (for bridge work that's generally good enough). ASTM A1034 describes six types of tests, including slip.
