Ladder rung spacing 2

Over the years I have always use ladders with 12" rung spacing. However the height required of a ladder is seldom an even increment of 12" so there will be an odd dimension on either the top or bottom and I can't remember which it should be, and I can't find it in any documentation I have on hand.

Does anyone have opinions on this?

An update.. Feedback from others I have recently talked to so far seem to agree with me that top rung should be at top elevation and the leftover length should be at bottom, as long as it is less than 12".

mrMikee....Your last post is what I learned many years ago when designing stationary ladders for sewage and water plants. As I recall, the spacing should be consistent and between 10 and 12 inches.

I believe OSHA has a maximum of 12 inches, but no stated minimum.
