hello coleagues

in WB 17.1 when i import a geometry and specify density in engineering data i got the mass of the geometry.

in wb 18 i do same thing but it does not calculate mass (mass = 0). even if i use default structural steel as a material, it still does not calculate mass...

hence modal analisys is impossible.

structural analysis works fine , which means E and P. ratio are fine, just density makes some trouble...

any ideas ?

no , i checked that. moreover the very same step file and import settings deliver mass in 17.1, when specify density...

maybe it needs to be reinstalled...

How many bodies are there in your model? I've had some step files with some bodies not showing mass.
In theses cases mesh generation was however successful and mass was correct in solver's
mass summary.

there are 8 bodies and surprisingly enough the very same step works fine...

can it be the xml file of materials somehow, idk?
