Hi!

What reqs should a laptop have to be able to run NX7.5 without any problems?

Both easy and difficult to answer. The recommended laptops are the ones that are certified for NX. The problem is to get a listing of those from the certification page, one has to know the model and then search to see if it is certified. I guess that almost anything from HP/Dell/Lenovo/Fujitsu that carries a Nvidia Quadro FX card might/will show up on the certification list. The rest of the problem is money...
- Buy the most expensive ( high spec) one that you can afford, no less than 4 Gb ram if you are going 32bit OS. No less than 8 Gb on 64bit.

Certification list for NX, you have to continue select from this page:

Edit,:
Do not try a non certified laptop*, the chance that you will have to spend hours and days chasing strange graphics problems is major, and Siemens will not help since it isn't certified. * unless it is a new model about to become certified shortly, or you can return it if it does have graphics problems.

You need to decide if you want/need a 32-bit or 64-bit machine. 64-bit with 8GB memory, if you do large assemblies, is a must.

Dual-core or quad-core processors have a penalty to pay, though they do have advantages. Few NX operations take advantage of multiple cores. The advantage is that NX can be run on one core and other cores do your other processing. Multi-core has a performance hit in managing the multi-cores.

FX graphics is a must and you may have to play with drivers. The certified drivers are usually not the latest, but the latest ones may be better. The drivers are free, so play around if your performance isn't what you think it should be.
