Hi,

I need some inputs to construct large storage water tanks (Jacking method) like Manpower, Construction equipment,Major Tools etc. Please refer the attachment for details of Tanks. Construction time will be 8 Months for all 9 tanks. Please help with any appropriate information.

Thanks
TCS Reddy

What's your role here?

You should be talking to tank fabricators like Motherwell Bridge or CBI or similar in whatever country you're working in.

These look like million barrel tanks to me and 9 months seems rather tight, especially for 9 tanks of a similar size all at the same time.

Try s bit of googling -
Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

I would not assume the tanks were to be jacked. That is a very tight (maybe impossible) schedule, be prepared to pay accordingly. And if that's your schedule, you need to be issuing that PO now, not asking random questions on the internet.
I would assume that the tank contractor would do the shell design and select appropriate grades, wind girders, optimum course heights, roof layout, etc.
I would be surprised if the foundations got built in 9 months. Don't forget to allow time for coating and lining.

Hi LittleInch,

Sorry, The construction period is 18 Months not 8. I need how much manpower, what type of tools (Major like Girth welding M/c etc...) will be required.

You really need to talk to an experienced tank builder. If you are going to build the tanks you need to hire a foreman away from an experienced tank builder.

Dear TCS Reddy,

Please also share the final solution that you came up with. I am also working on a similar project, five storage tanks of 106 meters and a capacity of 107,000 cubic meter each. I am working as a design engineer for the project. It is currently in the design phase. As it would be my first such big project, I could learn a lot of things from your experience and by the time it enters the construction phase I will have a clue.

Asad Ali
