So I am wondering on the spec for large diameter NPS pipe, such as 30".
For example and clarity of my question, standard pipe under 12" conforms to ASTM A53 (usually Gr. B), HSS to A500 (usually Gr. B or C), but what about these larger pipes? They are usually manufactured to an fy=42 ksi min, which is equivalent to the A500 Gr. B for Round HSS, but I thought A500 didn't quite cover the spectrum that these larger pipes can come in (doesn't A500 only go up to about 7/8" wall?) and not sure it would even be the right call-out...
Any thoughts? Thanks!
