Looking for a bit of guidance on designing slabs on grades with large wheel loads. I have the specs on the crane they will be using (attached) and I have requested a geotech tech report with the modulus of subgrade reaction. The PCA charts only go up to an effective contact area of 200 sq. inch. This seems to be a much larger contact area - the rear axle is roughly 70 kip, so 35 kip each wheel and recommended tire inflation of 50 psi. So the contact area is 700 sq. inch. Is there a method for working with these larger contact areas, other than the PCA charts?
