Heating stainless steel for 8 hours with a laser doesn't sound very practical. Not knowing what temps that you need to achieve you would need a large laser such an Excimer laser that puts out high energy and a laser would not give consistant heating thru your medium.
I would stick with conventional means such as water thru a heater etc... which you could control easier.
I hope this helps. Also this is only my opinion you may find someone out there that thinks or has done otherwise.
Good Luck!!
Hello,
I want clarification for this. If i use laser as a heat source, for modeling in FEM, how can i convert the laser power as heatflux to apply in a particular element of FEM mesh.
Please clarify this
