Hello all,cross-frames are genearlly used for providing lateral stability to BRIDGE GIRDERS but my question is what is the actual design procedure for lateral (wind)stability of bridge girders prior to pouring of deck using cross-frames.I do know the design procedure after deck is formed but suppose 5 girders were erected and wind is at 70 miles/hr so how you can calculate the adequate lateral bracing to bridge girders using cross-frames?is there any checks to be satisfied? I will be very glad if someone provides design calculations.
