Lawn Sprinkler reduction-gear drive

Hello all,
I'm developing a garden hose lawn sprinkler that needs a low speed (& low cost) rotational drive . Our intent is to incorporate an existing plastic turbine & gear-cluster into the design. Does anyone know of an appropriate manufacturer or distributor?

If your idea is to commercialize the product, first step would be to have a look at what you compete against, technically and pricewise.

What sizes and types of rotational drive are you thinking about.

Thanks for your response. I'm talking about the 5-10 rpm water-lubricated drives used in the majority of pop-up lawn sprinklers, & many regular garden hose sprinklers. These drives incorporate a very low loss flow turbine & a cluster of plastic (Acetal?) gears. Virtually every manufacturer offers a rotor drive sprinkler. Assuming that at least some of them outsource the turbine & gear-cluster, we would like to design our sprinkler head around an existing drive.

I'd be surprised if anyone is _openly_ selling what you want.

However, if you picked a competitive example, detailed it completely, and sent it out for quotes >around the globe<, you might find one supplier who demanded no tooling charge and offered a very, very competitive unit price.

That would be an outsource supplier.

You have to detail the parts either way, whether you're paying for custom tooling or just fishing to find someone who already has it and is willing to make parts for a third party.
