Hi everybody,

New to the forum. I am running NX8.0.3.4 I am looking for the best way to layout trim without having to make a boat load of sections and "hand build it". I do not have the die package that i know has some help in this area. Thanks in advance.

Can you provide at least a picture of what you mean by a 'trim'?

So essentially you want to 'unbend' the flange to the parent face?

You could do this with metaform but would require building a extension surface off the parent face onto which you could metaform the flange and retain the trim edge detail.

Never used metaform before, but yes this is exactly what i'm trying to do Khimani. Does this require a different or additional license?

Not sure about liceensing but its in Sheetmetal under Insert>NX Advanced Sheet Metal>Metaform. It allows you to map surfaces from one shape to another, usually from formed to flat, using a mesh. Have a read through the help docs, all should be clear.

Requires an advanced sheet metal license, so i am out of luck. But thanks for your imput.
