I've been tasked to build a piece of equipment which there is a display that needs to act like a notebook/tablet PC where it can flip up and down while pivot 180deg. I went looking for where I can purchase these, but I can only find unknown companies mostly selling used hinges. I'm not sure how many marketing is selling (or has sold!) so I kind of need a reliable supplier.

Anyone out there know of a supplier?

Thanks,
Jeff

Have you tried looking for In Car Entertainment displays. Search for Flip Down Monitors? I was looking for a similar thing a couple of years ago and there were quite a few well known names there. Most only available in TV type format, but I expect that's changed a lot since then with SatNav and DVD now so common.

Hi I work for a company that specialises in the design of all access hardware components. Within our range we offer constant friction positioning hinges for TFTs and applications like that. All you need to do is work out the rough torque you require given the CG and the weight of the screen / screen arm.

Hope this helps!
