Does anyone have any experience rejoining IChemE or similar organisations after an extended period of career break/career change? I know they offer a discounted rate to anyone who isn't practising but still wants to retain their membership, but I'm interested in knowing what would happen if you fell off the radar completely (or just decided not to pay). Could they make you reapply? Seems like a bit of a pointless when you could just dig out your old C&C reports, etc.

I know that the IMechE would welcome me back with no penalty, but they've burned that bridge a long time ago.

Cheers

I rejoined the IchemE after living abroad for over 20 years. It was relatively painless.
