Hi all,
I am trying to figure out how to replace the ccfl backlight with an led strip in an 8 inch LCD screen. I use these screens in ATM machines.
Firstly, there is not much space in the screen, so the led strip (white light) would have to be relatively thin.
The original screen is powered by an inverter board, which I assume would not be compatible with the led strip, voltage wise, as companies that sell conversion kits use different inverter boards.
Firstly, would I only need to know the power rating and the amperage required for the LEDs to figure out what inverter board I need? Can anyone recommend a site that sells such inverter boards?
The inverter board will draw current from the machines main board. Wiring will be required from the man board to the inverter board, then the inverter board to the led strip...are there any recommended readings on how to place wires in the appropriate connectors, and where can I find those?
I also though about wiring the led strip to a DC adapter, as it seems like it would be much cheaper, as it would not require an inverter board, and it would also bypass machines mainboard. How would I go about connecting this to the adapter.
