Dear All,

We are doing a Traffic count project in KSA and we are using Loop technology.
We are using the FHWA vehicle classification excluding motorcycles.

1, Short vehicle: 6.5 feet to 21.5 feet
2, Medium vehicle: 21.5 feet to 49 feet
3, Long vehicle: 49 feet and larger

Is it acceptable to use this classification?

Need your comments.

Why exclude motorcyclists? I know they are a small percentage of traffic, but with the fatality rate rising, I wouldn't want to exclude them.

This is because of 2 reasons.

1,The Project contract prohibits consideration of motorcycles.
2,The region which we are undertaking our project, motorcycles account for 1% of traffic and even less than this.

So is it acceptable to use the above classification?
