You are very confused. Consult a welding engineer.

Dear Ali,[wavey]
salam

Kindly find below notes:

1-length and number of test coupon shall consider in PQR preparation.

2-At the first you shall refer to project specification. if there is note any note in spec refer to related welding code./standard such as AWS D1.1/ASME IX ,ISO 15614.

3-ASME IX has not define special length for pipe test coupon. According to QW-210 : "The dimensions of the test coupon shall be sufficient to provide the required test specimens." length of pipe test coupon shall be sufficient to obtain the longest specimens such as tensile and bend.

4-25cm is good for length of pipe test coupon. if you face shortage material may reduce length but it shall be consider that if length of test coupon is very short its affect on Interpass temperature and cooling rate and affect on hardness and impact test result.

5- if external or internal clamp used for fit-up, length of clamp shall be consider.
6- for such diameter such as 32",42",etc its prefer to cut 50cm test coupon.

Best Regards,[wavey2]
