See attached image. I am trying to measure length of the arc using selection intent "single curve" and "stop at intersection". but it seems that system does not see the intersection. so how to measure length of arc or any curve between lines intersecting that curve?

NX4.0.4.2 mp10
winxp 32bit+sp3

Thanks

Hi eex23,
If your curve is a signle element (18000mm lenght), you will previsously trim the curve by the "green" line (Edit>Curve>Trim...).

But why option "stop at intersection" is available?
For eg. option "tangent curves" works fine.

I never used this option...
I have try it on NX4, and I haved the same probleme than you.

As you've noticed, the 'Stop at Intersection' option does not work. That's because it was never designed to work and in NX 4.,0 the fact that the icons for those options was included was a mistake since selecting them did nothing. Starting with NX 5.0 this was 'fixed', in that the unsupported options were removed.

Sorry, if you wish to measure the 'Arc Length' between intersecting curves, you will need to preform a trim operation. The good news is that the Curve Trim allows you keep the original curves with the Trimmed segment remaining associative to them thus allowing you to sort of 'have your cake and eat it too'. The original curve for whatever purpose you need it, and an associative trimmed segment which can be measured with a Measurement feature which will update even if the original curves are modified.
