Hi everyone.

I was wondering if there are any standards (preferably ASME) about level measurement and control techniques (switches, gauges, transmitters, etc.) like there are for flow and pressure measurement. I did a quick search on the web but couldn't find anything useful.

Thanks a lot.

I have worked in the petrochemical industry for several decades. With new technology for instance smart instrumentation and even smarter fieldbus digital instrumentation I still find myself having to scratch my head to remember basic level calculation. Try this application tool.

Here's a demo video on the use of the LevelCalc app:

Thanks a lot, but I'm actually looking for info on instruments such as float/displacer switches/gauges and torque tube transmitters.

Apologies,
The American Petroleum Institute (API) is where you will find most of your information. API will provide procedures for the installation of the more generally used measuring and control instruments and related accessories, as quoted from the website.
Also, you can look up vendor specific information. The vendor will provide the theory of operation, installation standandards generally API standards in there manuals. There are three websites that I would recommend. Hope this helps.
