as i read articles and data sheet of masoneilan level transmitter displacer type i did understand that for interface application the displacer must always immersed in fluid with lower density. i need to know how can i sure that this will happened . and if it doesn't happen what would be wrong with my accuracy and measuring .
best best regards to all of my friend

The only way to ensure that the displacer will always be immersed is to use it in an application where the thickness of the upper liquid layer is greater than the length of the displacer.

Interface detection using a displacer transmitter is very sensitive to changes in the density of either the upper or the lower liquids or to incomplete immersion of the displacer. Significant error will be introduced in these situations. Other technologies are not limited by the thickness of the upper liquid layer. Guided wave radar may be an option in your case.

hi dear katharine
i really appreciate your consideration.
but i have seen some data sheets of customers that mentioned that they need level transmitter displacer type for their interface application. they have even mentioned about their fluids .
your tip that said thickness of upper fluid should have been larger than the displacer length is true but this means that i have another range length at the top of my device to support the volume of upper fluid?
