I am a PE that works for a specialty contractor in the oil field industry. I pretend to work for them in China. My Home country Lima Peru (South America) My new contract with the Company states that I am responsible for buying General liability insurance. Could anybody tell me how much a typical annual premium for professional liability insurance and the best international provider .

Your thoughts would be appreciated!

I got a general liability policy a few years ago (have since let it lapse as that was the only comp[any I have worked for that has required it).

My premium for a USD $1M policy was USD $850/yr. That was with a US company.

I'm in W. Africa at the moment and it will take a few days to get my hansds on the company name and contact, but you might also want to try it is a useful site for expats. It's mainly geared to the UK, but has allot of good stff on it.

When I get the name of the insurance provider I used I'll get it to you.

I found the company that I used previously:

Mercury Insurance Group. The agent was:

Rich & Cartmill, Inc.
2738 E. 51st St, Suite 400
Tulsa, OK 74105
918-743-8811

Hope that helps. Like I said, the premium at that time was $850/yr, it may have gone up. I had checked with a few other domestic companies and their rates ranged up to $3K per year.
