I need some design examples and procedures about designing cold formed steel trusses (roof trusses to be specific).
Or i would be very happy if someone could mail me some design examples (a word document or a number of scanned pages or anything... ).

Do anyone know a web page or a book where i can find "design examples for cold formed steel trusses"...

I need detailed solutions, including gusset plate design. Also i want to learn if the gusset plate is checked for buckling (and of course how)...
Thanks for your help....

We recently completed a project with light gauge steel roof trusses, but we did not design them. They were designed and supplied by Cascade Manufacturing Company of Cascade, Iowa. This is very similar to wood roof trusses, which are designed and supplied by a lumber yard.

Hope this helps.

Here's a pretty good start:
You will want to get familiar with the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI - and while we're at it, they need a forum! I want to complain about the apparent dearth of weak axis section property information!). AISI's books (for sale on their website, are filled with a lot of examples.

There's also the Light Guage Framing Association and several other groups out there.

There are several books out there and the "set" will cost about $200 - including something on trusses.

Serdardundar:

On-line design of the Light-Gage /Cold-Formed steel using "1996 AISI Design Specifications" are now avilable on my web page including C Stud setiona and effective section properties, shear capacities, web-cripppling capacites, determinations of safety fators, screw connection capacities and 2D Plane frame Analysis.
