Hello,

In my refinery, we mix 45% jet + 55% medium gasoil (320-350°C) to fabricate what we call "combustion gasoil".
The constrainst are:
- maximum viscosity at combustion chamber entrance:6 cst @ 40°C.
- Maximum water content: 0.1% vol.
- Maximum sulfur: 0.8 % wt.

Now the following has been proposed: to use Light Naphta (light gasoline leaving the gasoline splitter) instead of Jet.

Do have any experience with this? Do you see any objection?

Hi,

Flash point can be problem, do you have specification for it?
Take samples of light naphtha and gas oil mix it in desired proportion and take it to lab, if all spec. are ok you can use it.

Yes indeed, flash point is an issue. So risky that Lab manager does not want to measure it for light naphta!
