Hello Fokls,

I am involved in an offshore project and must have to calculate a lighting fixtures quantity to comply with the illumination required in 4 different rooms. I need your help if anybody can tell me, does the autodesk inventor 2014 has the capability to do these kind of tasks and can generate an acceptable calculation reports?

Sorry for this, but I was doing this task 8yrs ago may be and it was just a small office that does not need so much detail of accuracy with regards to the calculation reports. and now, no body can calculate this but me. I will be using Norsok S-002 for the lux requirements.

Please tel me if you guys have an idea if the invetor 2014 software can do this if I have a 3d model and I will install lights on them.

Thanks a lot.

No lighting/illumination calculations are not part of Inventor..
Thats more of a Revit function.

In general...
Inventor is for the design of electro-mechanical parts/assemblies.
Revit is for buildings/dwellings,etc.

Thanks mcgyvr,

So i will start learning Revit.. we cannot also do it in autoCAD?

I used autocad before only for detailing and drafting and not calculation.

Thanks for the response.
