Lightweight Cellular Concrete

Using Elastizell behind some retaining walls. Anyone ever use it? How do you handle surcharge behind the wall, do you assume that it would end up on the wall via the cellular concrete?

During placement: Short lifts, bracing, or deadman tie backs.

Post placement it should have really minimal with unconfined strength since it is solid depending on how far back you go with it.

Thanks, I was thinking that too, but they give a friction angle for design. But the poissons ration is similar to concrete (it is concrete) so I cant see how a lateral load would be presented on a vertical wall

When solid it wouldn’t really have lateral load but there would be residual load as a result of the direct placement of the fill behind the wall, unless you pour the retaining wall afterwards.
