Can I link a macro to our templates?
We currently, open old documents > system options > document properties > load standards > units > change units > close > file save...

I am looking for something that our users can use to short cut this process. So, I was thinking if I had a macro linked to the new formats (templates) there would be a button to be used on older documents.

I hope someone has an answer.. Thank you

One of those should do the trick.
I think mac_copydoc migh tbe your best bet.

our templates have all of our new standards. so, opening up new stuff is no issue. it's updating the old
Thoughts:
-Can I record a macro and link it to a template?
-Build a button and embedded that into the template as well?
-Record macro using templates, save macro in the same folder as the templates?

I hope I am not thinking way out side the box..
-Has any one used the record macro?
-Has anyone done this?
looking for some direction.
maybe i need to jump and try it.

As CorBlimeyLimey said, mac_copydoc will be your best bet but in case you just need to do items you mentioned in the original post, I would suggest creating a new macro. You can record a macro, put it on a share drive and map to everyone's machine or put on their local drive, then use the macro run option via macro > run, a keyboard shortcut or macro button to update the properties.

If you can shed more details, I may be able to help you with the macro.

Thank you everyone...
I have been running Macros and tried to make my own. However when I run them, my SWX crashes so I have called our VAR and have almost given up. I have a few more options up my sleeve I will keep you up dated.
Deepak- are you involved with SWXgeeks?

I am running 64bit and just upgraded to SW13...
I am as well..

I deleted it.. i'll try and make another and upload it.
