Link part dimension to BOM 1

Hi!

Here is my problem. I want to link selected dimension(s) (detail maximum dimensions) of detail with BOM. If i modify dimension(s) in part environment then dimension(s) in BOM would change also.

One simple way for doing a one off will be to

Add a coulmn in BoM

Double Click in the cell in BoM, then click on the dimension text.

DONE!!

Another method is in the Custom Properties of the Part create a Property (e.g. "Length") linked to the dimension you want in the BOM. To link - place the cursor in the "Value/Text Expression" column then double click on the feature and then on the dimension that you want linked.

Then in Custom Properites change the BOM Quanity to "Length".

Gurjjeet's suggestion is simple, I like it.

Also, If the part dim changes in the BOM, the drawing with the BOM rolls to another rev. Different subject...
