Hello,

I've a problem with a Linked Mirror Body part.
I have a right part that is a mirrored part of the left part. I created this part with a temporary assembly. Everything worked fine, until i released the parts and created a new revision.
From the original left part I have now 2 versions, 01.001 (read only) and 01.002 which one is modified.
But the mirrored right part is still looking to version 01.001 of the left part.

How can i change the wavelink so the mirrored right part is always looking to the latest revision of the original left part?

Hope someone can help me.
Thanks in advance.

Is the "temporary" assembly still structured, or is the link broken now?

For this, we would structure the original as a component of the new one, make the WAVE-link mirror, and then suppress the original (so it doesn't load when you load the mirror).

Then to update, un-suppress the original.

Thank you for your answer carlharr.

The temporary exists yes end no.
I tested that way of mirroring first with test parts and assembly. What i exactly did i don't remember, but i think i renamed the test parts to the final names. The link of the mirrored current part directs to an assembly with the two test parts in it.
So the mirrored part is linked to the correct part number (only the wrong revision) but is also linked to the test assembly with the test parts in it. So i have no idea if that test assembly is used now.

The way you explains it is working fine, and is easier than using an extra assembly. And it's more clear how it is done.
The only risk is that in the future someone forgets to un-suppress the original part so the mirrored part doesn't update. This is especially an risk with small changes.

But overall I think I prefer your way.

Maybe someone else has some pros and cons for which way to use best.
Or how to fix the current situation.

My current part is fixed again.
I created a new assembly and placed both, original and mirrored, part in it.
Then I opened the feature "Linked Mirror Body" and linked that to the original body again, and now the mirrored part is updated again. And the link to the old test assembly is gone.
Hopefully it will still update after I gave the original a "Save as" as a new revision.

I tested an "save as" new revision ,and the mirror part does not update to the newer part.
It only updates when i open the assembly with both parts in it, while some people here say that the assembly isn't used anymore and can be deleted after the wavelink is created.
I found somewhere on this forum that "Update for external Change" should work, but it doesn't.

Has anyone an explanation?
