Hi guys, I have a quick question.

I'm using Inventor2009 and I would like to know if there's a way to link data from one cell of the BOM table to a piece of text in a drawing?

I would like to be able to reference specific item numbers, which will update in the future should I reorder or add/subtract parts from the parts list.

Is this possible to do in Inventor?

Thanks

No one? Is my question unclear?

Any help is appreciated.

I do not believe this to be possible.

I would like someone to prove me wrong, because I have a drawing floating around somewhere that needs this done on it.

I don't know for sure about Inventor. With other CAD packages, I have been able to put a balloon on there and change the frame around the balloon from round to rectangular, or none, or other.

Just a thought.

This is not a standard function in IV 2008, and I've been told (by people that are paid to know) that it isn't possible to pull data from the 'structure' column of the BOM for use in the parts list, so... Special VB routine? Anyone?

Hmm, well there is a way to do this, but it ain't pretty and I would need to know exactly what you are after as in what type of data from a drawing before I respond. Could you go into a little more detail?
