Is there a way to change the value of a text box using a variable? I want to match title block information to the file properties automatically.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi,

no, you can't use a textbox you have to use a callout. Within
that Window you have the choice to include a variable of
the involved part (use index reference). After doing a select
on the variable it will show up in the bottom line as
%{Title|R1} R1 means this var belongs to the (now) first
part in the draft. Close with OK

This works like i want it to, but i can't rotate the text. The text in the title block runs vertical. Is there a setting in SE somewhere that im missing?

Hi,

yes, you can do it with a callout:
- either before or after placing it
- before: select register card 'text and Leader'
- set the angle to either 90 or -90
- then place the callout
- after: select the callout
- proceed as above

Hi,

forgotten to mention:

- after: select the callout --> select properties
....

Is there another way? Angle is not an option in the "text and leader" screen in the callout properties dialog box.
Maybe this feature was not available in Version 10

Hi,

when this feature is not available then you're screwed. The rotate
function works with a Textbox but not with a Callout, a Textbox can't
hold a variable but a Callout can ...

BTW: V10 is just a little bit outdated ...
