Linking Antenna A to B

I am in Jamaica and i want to start a simple radio station i have TX1 1W Stereo FM Transmitter

What type of antenna do you recommed for the FM transmitter. note have added a 300W amplifier.

What type of antenna you suggest to link Antenna A and B this distance is about 8 mils no hills and mountain. If any what type of equipment is need.

the lower the cost the better

I think we are missing something here. Are you planning on using a directive antenna (A) to a receive/transmit station (B) then re-broadcasting (B*)?

This 300W amplifier. Does it have really low harmonics? The transmitter is giving -60dBc, which is a really tight spec for the amplifier.
 
My goal is to transmit a signal from Antenna (A- where the Music studio will be located)to Antenna(B- broadcast a 15 miles radius)
the distance between A and B is about 5 miles

Understand that this is not my specialist area; nevertheless I hope I know more about it than you!

The antenna you linked to is a 2.4GHz type which is entirely unsuitable for your use.

So we have separate applications.

1) A low power tight beam link to your re-broadcast area.
2) A high power omni-directional transmission antenna at B.

I have no idea what regulations you have to meet in Jamaica but it is a reasonable assumption that you need a licence to be transmitting in a publicly available RF band. You should first find out what regulations you are required to meet.

On a technical level let’s look at the link requirement from A to B. You need a pair of high gain antennas pointed accurately at each other and polarised in the same plane (in other words both have their elements horizontal for example). By using a highly directional antenna you need less transmit power, get better signal to noise ratio for a given power, and interfere less with neighbours.

The gain of the antennas and the power required should be calculable from a standard antenna handbook. Let me get back to you on that.

Note that you should expect to use two frequencies. One for the link from A to B and secondly the transmit frequency from B.
 
The type of antenna you should be looking for as the link pair is a "Yagi". You can google on this. At 100MHz this will be rather large. A dipole is a half wavelength tip to tip. That is 1.5 metre as 100MHz.

The dipole would look like a rod 1.5m long with a cut in the middle where the antenna feed connects.

A dipole is not very directional so you add directional elements which are parallel to the main dipole but spaced from it. A "three element Yagi" would be suitable, but not small. Try the Wikipedia to see what one looks like.

Yes, In jamiaca we have standards with regards to RF signal. I am in the process of applying for the licence.

My thought process was to link Antenna A-B by using the 2.4ghz antenna to provide Internet access to the Antenna B from Antenna A. via the internet I would transmit the signal and then rebroadcast from Antenna B
 
I thought of using STL, but i figured out a cheaper way.
Once the Antenna B has access to go on the internet i could use WinAMp/Realplayer to receive the signal via shoutcast.com

The goal is to install the hardware and software. being able to have the studio any where in the world. its like setting up a Internet radio and using the audio output and rebraodcasting it in Jamaica.

My problem i am buying the right hardware

FM transmitter
(located at Antenna B)
Amplifier
(Located at Antenna B)

To provided Internet access to Antenna B
I have 2 of these antennas already.

The audio Signal will rebroadcast using :

1) Is there a cheaper way ?
2) What is the best antenna for location B(cheapest for broadcasting the singal 15 miles)

Please tell me if i am making any sense
 
The technical issues of the STL (from A to B) and the 300w transmitter (at B) are not being kept separate.

I like the transmitter webpage, "...there are no harmonics !" With that sort of optimism, anything is possible.

What radio/router equipment are you planning to use to make the 5 (or 8?) mile STL jump from A to B? Are you thinking that you can use off-the-shelf internet routers connected to the +19dBi 2.4GHz panel antennas?
