linking FEA output to Engineering Optimizer

When running engineering optimizer, how do I access both the part geometry parameters AND the analysis parameters?
I want to use the maximum displacement value (dispmax) as an optimization target and part geometry parameters as the free parameters but so far it seems that you can only use parameters from within the workbench where the optimizer relation is placed. Another way that I could accomplish this would be to use variable shell thickness values as the free parameters since they are in the analysis workbench, but I cannot figure out how to do more than one shell thickness per part.
