Linking problems with Fortran subroutines

I'm running
Abaqus 6.7-1
VisualC++ 2005 (with SP1 and SP1 for Vista)
Fortran compiler 9.1

I had the same trouble as described in thread799-202712 with the message:
LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'LIBIFCOREMD.LIB'
when running
% abaqus verify -user_std

I couldn't figure what the problem was since the environment variables were all set but it appeared that the LIB variable had one folder named Ia32 instead of IA32.
