Hello,

Complex steel components (e.g. connections) force me to move from basic 2D design (beam as linear FEM) to 3D elements (beam as solid/3D FEM). Can you recommend me some literature to fresh my out of date knowledge (which stresses to be checked in ‘normal’ problems, ‘shear’ problems, can we allow local plasticity (how much), factor of safety, buckling, etc., etc.). I know there is a lot of literature for modelling such problems but I’m looking for tips & tricks to design them.

Thanks a lot!
