I am having trouble locating any suppliers for a locking ball and socket type joint (perhaps something similar to what is used on a camera tripod). The joint will be used to position a HPGe gamma radiation detector over a person lying down in a dental chair. The joint must be capable of supporting 100lbs. or so and lock into place so the detector will not move after being positioned. I have checked all of the suppliers that I can think of, but have had no luck so far. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the response, I am not completely sure those swivels will work for this application. I wasn't very specific in my first post, I will try and clear things up a little. The detector consists of a 30 liter bucket (dewar) of liquid nitrogen and has an arm approximately 18 inches long that protrudes from the bucket (dewar). The detector is supported under the dewar by a 3/8 inch steel plate that is currently mounted on a universal joint to allow positioning of the detector. Since the universal joint will not lock into place, there is all-thread screwed through the plate at 3 places making contact with the bottom of the detector to keep it in place. We would like to replace the universal joint (and the all-thread supports) with a locking ball and socket joint, so the detector can be positioned and then locked into place. I know my description is a little convoluted...there is a picture of our current setup at this website

The joint listed in McMater-Carr looks like a pretty slick unit, however I need to be able to rotate on more than one axis, that is why I was thinking along the lines of a ball and socket type joint.
