Any suggestions for a good text book on reinforced concrete analysis/design? Ideally I'm looking for a thorough book that covers introductory as well as advanced topics.

Currently I have a text by Nawy, "Reinforced Concrete A Fundamental Approach" but I've found it to be lacking.

I second that. We used MacGregor/Wight, 4th edition for my graduate concrete class. It is a very good text.

Third that......very good textbook. Has pointers on why certain things are the way they are in the ACI code.

Fourth.. pretty much the standard in academia and in practice.

looking on amazon's website it says the 5th edition is due out in june '08, any confirmation on that?

Try Design of Concrete Structure by 'Arthur H. Nilson'.

for design examples and some theory, nothing beats PCA Notes on ACI 318. It has design examples for everything in ACI 318 which textbooks do not and cannot cover.

I've found Nawy to be a very good book. What are you looking for? If you have Nawy already, just buy PCA Notes if you are looking for design examples. I wouldn't waste any more money on textbooks. Nawy covers the theory well enough and PCA Notes will provide all the examples you need. Plus it is cheaper than text books.

Another good one R/C text book is

" Reinforced Concrete Design " by Wang and Salmon.

Charles Salmon is the same author who wrote the well regarded structural steel textbook with John Johnson. His conrete text is equally well written IMHO.
